There are many people out there who are not happy with their current smile and it holds them back from fully enjoying certain aspects of their life. Thankfully, there are some amazing cosmetic dental procedures out there that can make a world of difference.

    Porcelain Veneers

If you are not happy with the way that your teeth look collectively, whether this be because you don't like their shape, their size, or something else, there is something that you can do to fix this. To make all of your teeth look exactly like you want them to, you should consider having veneers put on them.

Veneers are made of porcelain, making them both strong and very natural looking. The veneers are bonded over your current teeth, and are made to fit perfectly. Also, because extensive planning and care is taken before the veneers are actually bonded in place, you have time to perfect the way that they look.

During your follow up appointment, any minor changes or fixes can also be taken care of by the cosmetic dentist.

    Dental Crowns

If you have a tooth that is severely damaged, either because a cavity or a crack, a tooth that has gone through a root canal, or a tooth that has been severely weakened or damaged in some other way, then a dental crown may be the best fix for this.

Another name for a dental crown is a cap because it is essentially a cap that goes over your tooth. This cap not only gives you a natural looking tooth, if made from metal covered with porcelain or just porcelain, but it also protects and stabilizes the natural tooth that is housed underneath.

    Dental Bonding

If you have a small chip in one of your teeth that drives you completely nuts, or if there is a gap between two of your front teeth that makes you feel insecure when smiling and speaking, then dental bonding may be the best fix.

As the name states, a composite resin (glass and plastic) material is "bonded" onto the portion of the tooth that you would like to fix. This is done by using a curing light that immediately hardens the composite resin. This allows the chip to be filled in or the gap between teeth to be eliminated.

This procedure is minimally invasive and generally doesn't cause any pain at all.

    Invisalign

A lot of people are not happy with the natural placement of their teeth because they are often somewhat crooked. However, traditional metal braces may not be something that they want to go through because of the time and visibility of braces.

If this is how you feel, then Invisalign may be your best option. Invisalign braces are made of a thermoplastic material that is completely clear. You will wear these trays all of the time, except when eating and brushing your teeth.

This allows them to effectively move your teeth into place at a rapid rate of about 12 months or so. Because 3D imaging is used when creating each of your Invisalign trays, you can be sure that they will fit to your teeth comfortably during each step of the corrective process.

There are so many amazing cosmetic dental procedures out there, so there is no reason why you should have to live with a smile that you don't absolutely love.

Whether you need a single tooth fixed or several of your teeth need repairs, you can find the solution that works best for you.
